Quickies: Hi Sweetie! Just A Spoonful of Sugar

Writer: Jena SalonJena Salon

I went in to our date thinking I might want to fuck this woman.  She worked with her hands, which I thought might be a plus. But then we start talking about practical things like the committees we were on and what time we set our alarm clocks. She was nice and I wanted to give her a chance, but also, I didn’t want to spend the next date telling her about my last trip to Target.

Hi Sweetie!

You were a classic, but a little naughty, freed from your tight wrapper.  A no-fuss candy, inviting me to take a handful. I reached down, ran my fingers over your curves. But suddenly I realized you weren’t the sweet chalky candy I’d loved as a child; you were a pill I just couldn’t swallow.

"He thinks he wants to understand me, that he could listen to my secret and still love me; people always do.  But really, when they see inside you, that it’s black not pink, they are horrified.  When they understand, they say, “I’m sorry” and leave."- From "The Glass Cow"
